The Five Elements · Winter
The Water Element
Water is the energy of winter: rest, depth, and stored reserves. It governs the Kidneys, which Traditional Chinese Medicine sees as the root of your vitality. Balanced Water gives you steady energy and a deep sense of trust. When it's depleted, often from years of pushing through, you run on fumes, and fear takes up more room.

- Rest before you're exhausted, not after
- Keep your low back and feet warm
- Slow down in winter, and let it be a season of less
- Go to bed earlier
- Practice trusting small things, and notice when they turn out fine
