Somatic Sessions in Naperville
Part bodywork, part energy work, part insight. In your first session, we get to know each other, you experience the work, and you leave understanding your body in a new way.
From first conversation to your Five Element Map
1. We start by talking
We sit together on the mat and you tell me what's going on, in your own words. You'll have filled out a short form ahead of time, so I already know where you're hurting. I want to hear the rest.
2. An Eastern medicine intake
Instead of a form, we do this part together. Do you run hot or cold? Do you wake in the middle of the night? How is your digestion? Are there emotions you get stuck in more easily? These answers show me how your whole system is working, not just where it hurts.
3. Setting a goal for the session
I'll ask how you want to feel when you leave. If your shoulders felt open and soft, what would that change for you? This helps your body connect with the shift you're moving toward, not just the symptom you came in with.
4. The bodywork
I begin at your abdomen to assess your channels, looking for one that's depleted and another that's working overtime to make up for it. Then I work those channels through your whole body with Shiatsu, and add Reiki at key points. It should never be painful. Most women find it deeply relaxing. You're in control the whole time and can pause at any moment.
5. What showed up today
After a few minutes to rest and have some water, we talk about what came up. I'll explain which channels showed up, how they relate in Five Element theory, and how that connects to what you're feeling in your body and your life. You leave with something simple to do on your own, chosen for you: a stretch, a meditation, a Qigong practice, or a small change in how you spend your days.
6. Your Five Element Map, by email
After every Somatic Session, I email you Your Five Element Map: the channels that showed up, what they mean, and your practices, so you don't have to remember it all. Your body shows something a little different each time, so each map adds a new layer. As you keep coming, your map builds, and so does your understanding of yourself.
This work is especially helpful for
- Chronic stress showing up as pain in your shoulders, neck, back, or digestion
- Anxiety and sleep problems that haven't responded to other approaches
- Anger, frustration, or overwhelm that feels bigger than the moment
- Feeling stuck in a relationship, job, or life decision
- Grief and life transitions, including midlife and menopause
- Wanting to meditate but feeling like your mind won't quiet down
Many clients are also in talk therapy. Somatic work complements it well: your therapist helps your mind process, and this helps your body do the same. How the two work together

After your first session
Some women come back as needed. Most choose to keep going, because the nervous system learns through repetition, not intensity.
- The Nervous System Reset: six months of steady work to change your baseline. Join within 48 hours of your first session and its fee is applied to your first month.
- Reset Intensive: six sessions over three weeks, for women who want to front-load the work.
Ready when you are
One session. No pressure. You'll leave knowing more about your body than when you came in.
